Brian W. Elrod, M.D.

I was born in Cullman, Alabama and moved to Montgomery in 1970.  I graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and from Auburn University with honors in chemistry.

I attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham.  During my senior year, I was vice president of the Tinsley R. Harrison Medical Society.  My internship and residency were completed at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.  I served as chief resident in my final year and have been in family practice since 1990.

I am board certified and received my fellowship from the American Academy of Family Medicine.  The fellowship is an avenue for special recognition for members of the AAFP who have distinguished themselves among their colleagues in community service and by professionalism developed through education, academics, and research.  I am also board certified by the American College of Forensic Examiners.  Recently, I was selected as one of the Best Doctors in America.

My interests include sports, water activities, reading and family.  My wife, Tracie, is from Birmingham, Alabama, and we have two children, Madison and Savannah.
