Practice Information for Patients

Physical ExamAll new patients are scheduled for a comprehensive physical exam upon their first visit. We request a 48-hour notice if you are unable to make a scheduled appointment and reserve the right to charge $20.00 for any missed appointment
PhoneOur phones are answered from 7:45 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. As a special service, Montgomery Family Medicine employs phone nurses whose job is to answer your medical questions. Our phone nurses serve as a liaison between your physician and you. When it is necessary for them to take a message, please be patient and do not leave multiple messages.
PrescriptionsRequests for refills will not be handled after office hours or on weekends or holidays. A physician must approve all prescription refills and they are not normally called in until the end of the day. We do not refill narcotics, anxiety or sleep medicines, or antibiotics without first seeing the patient. For patients on maintenance medications treating conditions such as hypertension or diabetes, periodic rechecks will be required.
HospitalsWe are associated with the hospitalists that service all area hospitals. Should you need to be admitted, the hospitalist will handle the admission and coordination of inpatient stays. They report to us on your progress and outcomes.
Wait timesSometimes there may be a wait due to another patient’s unique needs. We ask you to try to be patient with delays. However, it is as frustrating to us as it is to you when you are forced to wait due to the tardiness of another patient. For that reason, we reserve the right to reschedule your appointment if you are late.
Billing & InsuranceAs a courtesy to our patients we do file insurance. However, copays and deductibles are due at the time of your office visit. Please be sure to bring your insurance card and your driver’s license with you to every appointment.
